Wicca and Witchcraft - the Differences

I have noticed that some people don't really know that Wicca and Witchcraft are two different things.  So I thought it would be nice if some of the people here could give a bit of info on the subject, your own words (even a copy/paste of your own…Continue

I thought it would be nice to post holidays that are from different Pagan faiths. Sabbats and esbats are talked about to death, and other stuff needs attention too! I wouldn't mind editing my first post so all the information is easily found. Some…Continue

Hello. I'm not actually a new comer to the craft but I am a new comer to taking it very seriously now and really practicing it in my daily life and as my true path. I am looking forward to learning from all of you and can't wait to get started. ~BB~

Hi Lucien Moon,  You comments are very appropriate and demonstrate someone who has spent their life searching for the truth.  Of course, the obvious question is: "what is the truth?".  The only real answer is what the questioner accepts in their own mind as being the truth.

I was educated at a Presbyterian boys college in Sydney from kindergarten to University entrance.  It was in 1st year senior (high) school that I first ran foul of the system when I challenged the dear old Scots minister delivering our first lesson for the year in Bible studies.  When I queried how Adam & Eve could be the first yet their sons found wives the dear old reverend turned apoplectic and I found myself in the headmaster's office.

What an enlightened man he was as we shook hands on my agreeing to attend the school library instead of bible class for the rest of the year.  Yes, my spiritual journey began at 12-years of age.

Since then I have come to realise that the Abraham religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) are all about control, and control through fear, guilt and revenge.  Revenge?  Yes, you don't do what "God" supposedly wants so we will apply revenge.  Sure the days of millions burned at the stake and killed in blood-lust crusades have passed but has much really changed?  Would you like to be a woman in Afghanistan, Iran or Bangladesh?

You have found yourself that life is difficult in the US bible-belt.  Maybe you need to pack up and relocate to Australia where you can be what you want to be and fear not the local attitudes.

The wonderful thing about paganism is it is very hard to explain exactly what it is.  For some it's Wicca, for others it's worshiping the ancient Celtic Gods and spirits without the witchcraft, while for others it's non-Abrahamic Spiritualism in which you worship The Source, meditate daily and generally develop a love of life and those around you.

With Paganism you have a multitude of belief formats yet each acknowledges the others rights to have that belief.  There is no control, no fear, no guilt, no revenge, no exclusion from society.

I have had Christian colleagues ask how can I perform the Pagan weddings I do, their insinuation being twofold: don't I fear God's wrath for toying with the Devil, and, surely, I can't be working hard because who would want such weddings.

In their bigoted mindset they can not comprehend that I am extremely busy and that I have no fear of the Devil for he surely does not exist.  They talk of being consigned to hell.  Where is it?  Sure, it does exist but where is it?  It's here, we live in it.  Ask any family living in GFC enforced poverty where hell is, ask any woman in Afghanistan where hell is, ask any man or woman being physically and emotional abused by their partner and they can all tell you where hell is, it's here, we live in it.

If, in your own mind, you have found the validity if what you believe in then you can seek peace of mind and raise your vibrational state.  If a Christian has found serendipity, then that's wonderful but that's within their own mindset.  It's then ostracising those who don't see it their way that creates the grief, strife and misery we have in this current world.

Welcome aboard this wonderful website and enjoy your journey and your search, and may you find peace and bliss when you do arrive at your destination wherever that my eventuate.

And thank you for offering peace, love and applesauce: if you could send me some over the Internet I would love it on my lunch today.  Peace!

Greetings. Lucien here. Pleasure to meet you all.

I came here to find a safe place to meet and talk with others of similar mind and beliefs. The Path(s) can be a lonely one for those of us in the bible belt USA.

I'm hoping to meet people locally to meet up with and share, and to expand my horizons globally for growth and encouragement both given and received.

I was raised in Protestant Christianity and moved into Messianic Judaism. After years of study and research I began noticing contradictions, control tactics, spiritual snobbery, among other things and I just didn't want that "in" me anymore.

My studies led me to certain conclusions about the nature of the Universe, in addition to a lifetime of experiences, and could no longer deny what I felt was my path, a path that had called me since I was a child.

It has been the best decision I have ever made, yet brings new challenges. Challenges which I embrace with eagerness as they bring growth. Growth here and beyond the veil...

I am grateful for this community, the first that I have joined to be active in. Thank you for making a place for me and I look forward to getting to know you all. Many blessings to you and yours.

Peace, Love, and Applesauce

Hi There, I am a newcomer to this group and website, For many years I have been intrigued by witchcraft  I have had small successes in my life influenced by my beliefs which without knowing relate very much to the beliefs of of wicca.

After 5 years of pondering, researching, reading and thinking I have made the decision to open myself more to the way of thinking that I have done for years without voicing or acting upon.

So I will continue on this path of new and hope that I will get the chance to chat with people who are walking the same road.

there are many things that I am interested in and with baby steps i intend to learn more about, I enjoy my herb garden and love to make homemade medicinal remedies for my family and friends, meditation is part of my daily routine, I love crystals and also am interested in runes which I think will be my next lot of reading.

One thing I know for sure is that I am learning every day and am enjoying the simpler things in life, with a deep breath and a sigh, I relax and it feels great.

Hope to learn much from all

Clover :)

Nikki, I'd have to say that daily devotions would depend on yourself, your personality and feelings, and who or what your devotions are aimed at/for... I have no idea what mala beads are, so can't speak to that LOL. But if it is something that feels right to you, then give it a try and see how it works for you... Meditation is a method of devotion for some people, perhaps that is part of what you should do... But as I said it does also depend on who or what your devotions are for...

Does anyone have a way to create your daily devotions and what an example of one should be? Just would like some clarity. Is mala beads a good tool to have. I just had my first awesome meditation experience this week. I felt completely different afterwards. Blessings and love and light to all. Thanks

I'm moving to Nashville in April and I'm so happy that I'm going to be in a state that has at least eight shops. I'm looking forward to visiting them. I'm also interested in talking to others and making friends with them. I know that sounds kind of odd (I doubt anyone would think that) but not having the chance to be around others of like mind and having someone to talk about their experiences and sharing that has been hard. I'm looking forward to that.
